North Yorkshire Advocacy service will be holding drop in sessions and working in partnership with a number of other local community groups to enable members of the public to meet our staff directly.

  • Starbeck Library: Tuesday 6th June (2pm - 4pm)
  • Craven Community Café in Settle: Wednesday 7th June (1pm - 3pm)
  • Carers Centre Event at Northallerton Forum: Tuesday 13th June (10am – 2pm)
  • Carers Centre Enent at The Garden Room Leyburn: Thursday 15th June (10am - 2pm)
  • South Craven Over 50’s Forum: Monday 19th June (11am – 1pm)

Ripon Community Open Day

What a great day we had at Allhallowgate Methodist Church Community Open Day on Saturday 6 May.  

We were joined by other organisations and community groups who work within Ripon offering services to local people.  We had a wonderful time chatting to so many members of the public telling them about our work.

North Yorkshire Advocacy wants you!

At present North Yorkshire Advocacy (NYA) are looking for the following Trustees to join our existing board members as we continue to move our organisation forward.

Service User Trustee

A previous service user of North Yorkshire Advocacy (or previously Hambleton and Richmondshire Advocacy, Craven Advocacy, Selby Advocacy or Harrogate and District Advocacy)


An experienced Trustee who will be responsible for the financial affairs of the organisation and they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice.

Nuisance calls effect us all, however for the most vulnerable of society they can cause untold emotional and financial concerns, an impact of which our Safe Hands Advocates have witnessed first hand. 

Speaking yesterday the Prime Minster confirmed the government will spend £500,000 on around 1,500 devices for the most vulnerable, including dementia sufferers.

North Yorkshire Advocacy gains new Advocacy Quality Performance Mark (QPM) North Yorkshire Advocacy has been awarded the Advocacy Quality Performance Mark (QPM) from the National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTi). The QPM is the UK’s only independent quality performance mark for organisations offering independent advocacy; an essential service for people who need support to express their needs and have increased choice and control in their lives.
